A Closer Look at the Jadran Beaver Valley Junior Tamburitzans
The Jadran Tamburitzans were organized in 1957 as part of the Croatian Social and Glee Club “Jadran”. The Club is located at 2365 Concord Street , Aliquippa PA 15001. (Hopewell Township, Beaver County)
The Group focused on educating students in music theory, reading music and playing that music on a stringed instruments, called the Tumbura. Dance and singing are also taught to complete the ethnic experience.
In 2013, Jadran and the Beaver Valley Junior Tamburitzans joined together to form Jadran Beaver Valley Junior Tamburitzans and currently practice on Wednesday, at the Croatian Center, in Aliquippa. They are taught by Ashley Ellis Spencer and Julia Knihnicky.
We are a non-profit organization which survives on donations and fund raising in order to maintain our organization and to continue to educate our children.
